I love the verses from 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 where Paul is struggling with the thorn in his side and with his weaknesses. Then Paul succumbs to his weaknesses and realizes that he is made strong by God's power whenever he is weak. I have to remind myself of this all day long. When I rely on God's divine power, I can do anything. Yes, anything!!
When I am at my lowest, weakest point, I get to see God's power and His grace come alive. Because when I know I can’t do it on my own, I turn it over to Him and trust Him with the results. Because when I am faced with an impossible situation, I deflect all glory back to Him, pointing the world to His strength. Because when my weaknesses suddenly become strengths, the whole world takes notice, trying to figure out how the most unlikely candidate was chosen for a major assignment.
God reminds me in 2 Peter 1:3-4 that He gives me all of His (divine) power for life and godliness through my knowledge of Him. Through His power, my knowledge of Him, and His glory and goodness, He has given me His great and precious promises. His promises are for real and He always sticks to His promises....and they are MINE! I do have to pursue them though as well as know what they are. I also notice that He says "He has given me His promises" (past tense) and not that I must wait for them. They are mine and are available to me because I am a follower of Jesus (a child of His). Hallelujah!
God says that He will command His angels concerning me and guard me in all of my ways (Psalm 91:11). I remember when Jesus was sent into the wilderness for 40 days being tempted by satan where He was among wild animals but that there were "angels" who attended Him (Mark 1:13). What a great promise that is!! I am never alone to live my life. I always have God's power, promises, and angels to help me. Thank you, Jesus!!
