REAL Christianity is the religion of a sinner who applies (asks formally) for salvation from deserved wrath and from sin; he applies to the mercy of the Father, through the atonement of the incarnate Son (Jesus) and gives himself to be the worshiper and servant of Jesus.
God offers His free gift of grace to anyone who is willing to exercise his faith and accept God's free gift. This is a conscious decision. I so often hear people say that they "always believed" or "grew up in the church" or have "always known God." They may have always known 'of' Him but do they KNOW HIM? Have they accepted Jesus as their Savior and have committed to following Him - developing a personal relationship with Him? That is the difference between flawed Christianity and real Christianity.
