Dear Lord Jesus,
As the family hits the road, the sparkling Christmas decorations are tucked away, the Christmas carols cease, and the vibrant and spirited poinsettias begin to wither, my cheerful attitude moves toward gloominess. It’s a natural reaction every year it seems, Lord. But you taught me that although emotions are normal, the harmful ones should not inhabit my mind for long. The longer I dwell on them, the more they push aside my blessings and make an unwelcome home in my heart. Please help me not to allow negative emotions to occupy my heart and mind. Test me, O Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; your love is ever before me, and I will choose to walk continually in your truth. You, O Lord, keep my lamp burning; you turn my darkness into light. Thank you that these are promises in your word. The New Year is here and I am confident that you have BIG plans for me. You have plans to prosper me and not harm me. I choose today to look at this New Year with zeal and I plan to keep my spiritual fervor for you, serving you, Lord. You want to use me in BIGGER ways this year and I am honored. I believe that every person you place along my path will also be used in a BIGGER way. My spiritual eyes see the most amazing, divinely-anointed activities ahead! I pray that you give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that I may know you better. I can’t wait to relish in the riches of your glorious inheritance and experience your incomparably great power because I choose to believe. I have not seen you but I do love you. And even though I still don’t see you now, I believe in you. As a result, I am filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy! I have received your most precious gift ever – the salvation of my soul – which is the goal of my faith. No Christmas gift could ever compare to that because your gift lasts forever. Thank you, Jesus, for this past year, and please make me lie down in green pastures with you this New Year so that my soul can be soothed and fully restored daily. I long to be grateful for everything you allow in my life. A thankful life is a powerful life! Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in you. I need your help with this, Lord. Help me beyond belief to trust you with every day you give me this year. I love you, Jesus, my strength!
In Your Name I Pray,
Amen
