Having a close, intimate, personal relationship with Jesus is crucial. This is especially imperative when I am going through a trial. There is an unshakable peace available to me when I turn the eyes of my heart to HIM. But when I'm experiencing a difficult time in my life, I so often shift my focus off of Jesus and onto my problems. What I focus on becomes bigger; hence why I need to keep my eyes on Jesus. Jesus never meant for me to handle my problems on my own. When I become anxious, I know that isn't from Jesus because He offers me peace (anxiety is the opposite of peace). When my thoughts run rampant, I lose my spiritual focus. I can only find peace in the presence of God by getting into His Word and speaking to Him in prayer. He's always available to me. When I accept whatever God has in store for me (timing and will), then I will rediscover that peace that only He can offer. This peace is genuinely indescribable and completely divine!
May I always be reminded of these truths.
Psalm 27:4 says "One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house (presence) of the Lord ALL the days of my life; to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple." And yes, Lord....."my heart says of you, seek His face; your face, Lord, I will seek!" (Psalm 27:8).....and when I do, I will maintain PEACE!
