I was thinking today when I had some quiet time why the majority of people love the holidays, particularly Christmas. (Yeah, I know, some people really hate the holidays for their own reasons, but the majority appears to love them).
Here is what I concluded….God created us to be loving and giving. Around the holidays, people make more of an effort to love and give. They take the time to get “themselves” off their minds and onto “doing something nice for someone else.” In turn, they feel gratification, excitement, loving, and fulfilled. Isn’t it interesting that these feelings are what we crave, but aren’t willing to make this effort of loving and giving every day? We do have the choice to do so. This is what God desires of all of us. When you wake up each morning, thank God that you did. Then ask Him how you can “do something nice for someone else.” When you get into this daily habit and act on the opportunities each day, every day will feel like Christmas to you. Just sayin’.
